Ddung is an adorable little 4 year old girl who knows everything, and for being so young, she is already a little cynical and disillusioned. She has a chubby little belly and big curly pigtails.
Ddung is a Korean doll and her name is written as “Ddung”, but sometimes she is known as “Ddungy” because it sounds cuter. Her name is NOT pronounced like “dung” as in poo, but “ddoo~ng”. In Korean it means a kind of sour pout face, which is the expression on her face.
The Ddung brand was created in 2003 by the Korean designers Designseol who have created several doll lines in Korea, but the Ddung line is by far the most successful and has largest range of products centering around the Ddung doll. Accessories include clothes, stationary, cosmetics, bags, books and lots more.
Ddung has two great passions, the television, thanks to which she realized that life is not perfect, and her father, who she considers to be perfect.
Her dream is to become Miss Korea, because the pretty girls always get what they want… so in the meantime she is training herself to pretend to be sweet and pretty, although she does have a bit of a temper.
Ddung has a large community of family and friends. Ddungs Mum (Omma) is a famous underwear designer. So when she is at home she only wears underwear… and so does her Appa (Dad)! Her Appa is a toy designer, so Ddung gets spoiled with new toys that her Appa designs.
Ddung has a little boyfriend named Bongu! ♥ He often appears in special doll sets with Ddung and on products. Ddung and Bongu have lots of adventures with her little pig Dungs.
Ddung dolls are available in two sizes, 11cm and 18cm. They come with her traditional curly black hair or with fantasy coloured hair. Pink is my favourite.
